When I was 5 years old my mom noticed that I liked to draw a lot. She thought my drawings were so good, she entered me in a community art contest. I earned a fifth place ribbon, or something like that. Although I was no Picasso, the feeling of sharing my work and being recognized for accomplishing something felt very rewarding. It was a lot of fun too. I had been drawing for a long time after that. However, after High School I stopped drawing for a long time. With no formal training and little support, I didn't really feel motivated to pursue art anymore. Many years past me by before I would decide to pick up a graphite 2B. Then, one day I decided it was time to shrug off the bad joo-joos and pick up where I left off. Now I am going to school for Fine Arts and am learning a whole new way to doing the thing I love. I know I have a ways to go until I get good enough to become a professional, but with persistence and lots of practice I know I can do it. I look forward to seeing many different works of art and maybe learn from them as well.
